Martagon Lilies - Lilies for ShadeThese bulbous perennials are wonderful for combining with Hostas and other shade loving plants. Their attractive whorled foliage emerges early and looks good all season. The waxy flowers are quite small and noted for their tremendous substance plus their wide color range. In our area, east central Minnesota, they usually bloom in early to mid June. One of the advantages of this group of lilies is that they can be left undisturbed for many years before division will be necessary. Unfortunately, Martagon lilies remain relatively obscure in the nursery trade due in part to their slow increase. Martagon Lilies growing in the field.
