Custom Engraved Plant Labels
If your collection of plants has grown to the point where you are having difficulty remembering all their names, it is time to consider permanent labels. In addition to growing and selling plants, we also fabricate and sell plant labels. We have looked at many labeling systems and feel that, despite the initial cost, this system proves itself very economical.

Our labeling system consists of an engraved plastic label atop a metal marker. The plastic is composed of a cap and core permanently fused together and is a textured, all-weather product. The label is two inches high with the length determined by the amount of text. This label will last decades in the garden, and even longer if the labels are removed and stored inside for the winter. The stakes are manufactured by See-Fine Marker Co. and are made from extra heavy No. 8 galvanized wire. We stock both 20" and 26" heights. The plate to which the plastic label is attached is made of 26-gauge galvanized iron and is inclined at a 45-degree angle for easy reading.

We offer four plastic colors: Bermuda tan surface with a dark brown core, ash grey surface with a black core, coal black surface with a white core and coffee bean surface with a white core. We offer one type style - Sans Serif Condensed Block. The standard size is 11/32" but can change type size somewhat for special needs.

We generally include only the scientific and common name of the plant, having found it best to keep the information to two lines for a cleaner look. We can add additional information on a given label, but it may require reducing type size and additional cost. Please include a written copy of the information exactly as you wish it to appear on each label as well as your choice of label color and stake length. We will be happy to work with you to establish correct nomenclature. Since our outdoor workload is so intense during the growing season, we prefer to work on label fabrication during the winter months.

We sell the finished label with either length for $4.75/each. If you prefer the label without a stake (as one might for hanging on a tree branch), the cost is $3.75/each. Full payment is due when the order is placed - MN residents please add 6.875% sales tax. If you wish the labels shipped, we will bill the actual costs.
